Every now and then you need something over-the-top, something decadent, something that makes you say ‘OMG’. When you’re next in one of those moods, this is the recipe for you. This recipe is delicious and definitely a crowd pleaser, if you’re nice enough to share. Hope you enjoy!
Dulce de Leche Brownies
Ingredients
- ½ cup butter, cut into pieces
- 6 oz. semisweet chocolate, finely chopped
- ¼ unsweetened Dutch-process cocoa powder
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup Dulce de Leche (I used this one, you can also make your own – instructions here)
Directions
Preheat oven to 350oF and line an 8-inch square baking dish with a sheet of aluminum foil that covers the bottom and goes up over the sides; spray bottom and sides with cooking spray.
Melt butter in a medium to large saucepan over medium heat. Add semisweet chocolate and stir over low heat until melted. Remove from heat and whisk in cocoa powder until smooth, then add in eggs one at a time. Using a wooden spoon, stir in sugar and vanilla, then flour until smooth.
Pour half the batter into prepared baking dish. Spoon ⅓ of the Dulche de Leche over the batter evenly in dollops, then drag a knife through and swirl into the batter to distribute. Pour the remaining batter over and spoon the remaining Dulche de Leche and repeat, creating a marbling effect.
Bake for 35-45 minutes and allow to cool completely before cutting (note: this will take some time because they will be quite ‘gooey’ with the Dulche de Leche mixed in). Enjoy!
