Green beans are on the small list of vegetables that I eat, I promise I’m working on expanding it Nana! These green beans are super easy and tasty, and go well with lots. Apologies for the lack of photos, I’ll add more next time I make them but I was focused on the main, the Satisfying Onion and Goat Cheese Frittata. Continue reading

Creamy Dreamy Apple Torte
I love fruit, baking, and baked goods, so you would think that would naturally translate to an affinity for pies and tortes, but you would be wrong. I don’t like cooked fruit (except bananas, such as in my famous chocolate chip banana muffins, and blueberries), but I do recognize that other people like it, so I’m happy to bake it for them – like this creamy dreamy Continue reading
Devil’s Food Cake with Sinful Chocolate Frosting
I made this cake for my Bubbie’s 85th birthday on Sunday and she kept the leftovers, which says a lot! Not to be confused with my Nana, my Bubbie is my other grandmother and the two are opposites. While Nana liked funky, Bubbie prefers classic or conservative. I remember my Nana for her baking, and Bubbie stands out in my mind for her cooking Continue reading
My Famous Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins
I became famous for these muffins in university; it got to the point where I could swear that my friends developed a sixth sense for when they had just been baked and knew exactly when to stop by. These muffins are a perfect solution to overripe bananas and were part of the inspiration for this blog as many of my friends have requested the recipe or the result of it at one point or another. Continue reading
Enchanting Orange Coconut Cake
After already deciding to and completing baking this cake, I realized that I had made a recipe with coconut last week (Amazing Oatmeal Coconut Chocolate Chip Cookies), makes you think I have a thing for coconut! The truth is, I do, but I’m kind of (unfortunately) a coconut snob. You see, my grandparents had a house on the Caribbean island Grenada, also known as the Island of Spice. I grew up going there for a few weeks a year until the age of ten, Continue reading
Amazing Oatmeal Coconut Chocolate Chip Cookies
My Nana would bake all the time but would never really eat what she made, and while she clearly passed on her love of baking to me, she definitely did not pass on that habit. These are oatmeal cookies 2.o, not only are they chewy, but the coconut and chocolate take them to a whole new delicious level, which makes me eat lots of them. Continue reading
Droolworthy Oreo Brownies

I love baking (obviously) and chocolate, so brownies are naturally one of my favourite type of baked goods — oh yes, I meant type, because they are definitely a category unto themselves. These brownies are among the best that I’ve ever made or had…how could you ever go wrong with Oreos or brownies? Continue reading
Actually Delicious Roasted Brussels Sprouts
I’m sure the scenario of your grandmother trying to convince you to eat your vegetables when you were little sounds quite familiar. I’m also sure that the thought of a vegetable like Brussels sprouts doesn’t usually produce a mouth watering sensation. Both of these sentiments are grounds for thinking that this recipe is one of the the last things you’d think I would post here, but I promise it’s worth it.
I am the first to admit that I’m not good with vegetables, and, until very recently, Brussels sprouts were definitely on my ‘Not’ list. Continue reading
Halloween 2012: Chocolate Pretzel Webs

Halloween is my favourite holiday, and I’m pretty excited that it’s a thing at my office (there is a costume competition between the departments). I saw these and instantly knew that I had to make them for my department! I made them yesterday so here is the recipe! Continue reading
