I saw this table online and had to share it, two of my favourite things! Wine and cheese are so good together it sometimes seems like they were made for each other. This guide is a great help for all seasons, tastes, and preferences, hope you enjoy! Continue reading

Baked Chicken Shawarma
I love Middle Eastern food! Give me falafel, shawarma, hummus, anything, and I’m a very happy camper. While lots of the side dishes can be made at home, many of my favourites require frying or special equipment, so I was very excited when I came across this recipe. I kept it simple and put hummus, cucumbers, and tomatoes in a multigrain pita with the shawarma, but you can throw in anything. Hope you enjoy! Continue reading
Most Expensive Food in the World Infographic
I saw this infographic and had to share it. Wow! What some people will pay for food is crazy. I won’t lie though, there are some things on there that I wouldn’t mind eating if someone else paid for them! Enjoy! Continue reading

I’m always looking for new recipes and trying to find different ways of getting enough protein and vegetables, so I decided to find a good (and easy!) tofu stir fry recipe. Lessons From a Food Blog
I’ve been working on My Nana’s Kitchen for just over a year and a half now, and there are a lot of lessons I’ve learned from it. These lessons come up in conversation enough that I realized that you might want to know about them too, so here they are: Continue reading
Tilapia Tacos with a Twist!
I’ve been craving fish tacos, but I don’t deep-fry anything myself because if I do it once (and it turns out well) then I’m definitely going to do it again, and that’s not good for my attempts at eating well, so I leave the frying up to the professionals! I found a great pan-seared fish taco recipe with a twist, it’s got a an awesome avocado, arugula and mango ‘salsa’. Hope you enjoy! Continue reading
Easy Pea-sy Soup
Soup is the perfect solution to the weather getting cooler, especially if you have the good fortune, like myself, to catch a cold that also comes with this time of year. So I’ve said it before, I’m not good with vegetables and am constantly working on adding more to my approved list, and this soup makes me want to eat peas all the time! The spices really set it off, it’s good for you, and it’s quick and easy to make (I couldn’t help myself with the title). I hope you enjoy it as much as I do! Continue reading

Pulled sandwiches always look delicious, and, since I don’t eat pork, I was determined to find the perfect pulled chicken…and I think I did! This recipe is great for summer BBQs, and would be a perfect addition to your Canada or Independence day celebrations. Continue reading
Enticing Cauliflower with Mustard-Lemon Butter
I’m always open to trying new foods, and my ever-present curiosity often results in interesting ‘I do not like this’ faces. Recently, my mom made a cauliflower side dish and the dressing smelt so good that I decided to brave the strange vegetable again…and I liked it! While my feelings towards the undressed version of the colourless cousin of broccoli haven’t changed, Continue reading
Steak ‘Doneness’ Trick
My stepdad does all the meat cooking in my house, so I loved this image when I found it online because I have no idea when steak is done cooking. I’ve tried cooking it on my own, but I end up with a steak with multiple stab wounds from my continuous attempts to peek inside and check its’ ‘doneness’ (yes, that is now a word). I know I can’t be the only carnivore who is steak cooking clueless, so I hope this helps you as much as it will help me! Continue reading
